Later on in the day, my mother says "Amy, go sign us up for the raffle." Of course, being the teenager that I am, I complained. I wrote all my family up for this raffle.
During the first half, teal and white were tied. Nabokov was protecting his goal with all his might. He did not let one single puck get through. Cheechoo was gliding on the ice and knocking down all his team mates. Thornton was guiding the puck up and down the ice. Everyone was pumped up for the incoming season. All across the HP Pavilion you would see grade school boys singing and dancing, rooting for their favorite players.
When intermission came around, they had two females play against each other in a some what game. Then, they announced raffle ticket winners. I was thinking positive and crossing my fingers, hoping I won at least a jersey. When the announcer came to the fifth prize, a Joe Thornton signed hockey puck and $40 gift certificate to Best Buy, he said "Amy Eliason". I almost fainted. My dad was like "That's my daughter." I was so excited! I won a Thornton signed puck!
People may not think I'm a big hockey fan, but truth is, I am. I might not know many players or watch EVERY game, but its my favorite game. I live and breath hockey. Whenever I can get the chance to go to a Sharks game, I take it. I'm so excited for my birthday next year. I get to go to a Sharks game versus Calgary (if you want to go to the game with me, just let me know. I'll dwell on that idea.) I'm that fan that sings at every song, that yells when we miss a shot, that screams when we score. I'm the loudest fan at the Sharks game(:
Another important thing today was that a very important male figure entered my life. I am so glad that I found him and he's here to stay with me.
